Heart Wrap

To love at all is to be vulnerable. Love anything, and your heart will certainly be wrung and possibly broken. If you want to make sure of keeping it intact, you must give your heart to no one, not even to an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements; lock it up safe in the casket or coffin of your selfishness. But in that casket- safe, dark, motionless, airless–it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, irredeemable. ~C.S. Lewis

Please don’t stop loving.. it’s what we’re here for! ♥ Hxx

  1. A very nice reminder as I nurse a bruised heart. It’s so tempting to just lock it up! But those words are so very true. Thank you for sharing. You always seem to know just what to say and when. 😉 Hugs!

  2. That is true.. heartbreak hurts more than anything. I am divorced and wouldn’t want to go through that pain again for anything…. however, to be loved by someone is something very special. Its a hard thing to do to let your heart be vulnerable.

    • Dear Alison, the amazing thing is, we survive the pain, we dust ourselves down and get up again; don’t we all deserve to love again? Be brave, you’re stronger, more resilient, more beautiful, and more lovable than you would ever believe! Blessings & hugs, Hxx

  3. Alison and Sandi, I am also healing from a recent divorce after being married for 20 years. It was very painful but as Hayley stated some how we have to dig deep to find that inner strength to stand back up, dust ourselves off and move forward. Do it at your pace and take notice of the beauty around you. Enjoy this new journey, scary as it might seem because it’s new and you were knocked out of your comfort zone. Stay true to yourself and do the things that bring joy to your spirit!!! You might just surprise yourself!!! Lots of prayers…xx
